Next Travel Services Snap Plaza

To accommodate the growth of Next Travel Office, we were commissioned to design and expand their existing workspace at Bole, Snap Plaza, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, by merging it with an adjacent unit. The goal of this project was to create a more spacious, functional, and collaborative environment to support the evolving needs of the business and its employees.

The initial step was to demolish existing walls to create a large, open-plan office layout. This approach not only improved the overall flow of the space but also fostered a more collaborative atmosphere, allowing employees to interact easily and work together efficiently. The open-plan design encouraged better communication, creativity, and teamwork, all crucial elements for a growing business.

To maintain a clean, organized aesthetic and optimize functionality, we incorporated a single partition to discreetly conceal the kitchen and archive areas. This design choice ensured that these essential but often cluttered spaces were hidden from the main office area while still remaining easily accessible for employees.

One of the standout features of the design is the void created in the kitchen wall, which forms a stylish window-style counter with high chairs. This thoughtful addition provides a casual coffee spot for employees, offering a place to relax, take a break, and socialize in a more informal setting. The window-style counter adds a unique visual element to the office while enhancing the functionality of the kitchen space.

The expansion not only allowed for increased office capacity but also improved the overall aesthetic and functionality of the workspace. With an emphasis on open spaces, practical design, and a balance of privacy and collaboration, this office expansion reflects Next Travel’s commitment to creating a dynamic, modern work environment that supports both productivity and employee well-being.

Overall, this project transformed the office at Bole, Snap Plaza into a modern, efficient, and inviting space, promoting growth, creativity, and a positive work culture.
