Cooperative Bank Of Oromia (COOP)

We were commissioned by Cooperative Bank of Oromia to design and supervise the Coop Forex Office at Bole, Addis Ababa International Airport. The objective was to create a modern, functional, and visually striking office that aligns with the brand identity while maximizing the potential of its prime corner location.

Recognizing the strategic position of the site, we incorporated curved elements into the design to enhance visibility from multiple directions, ensuring that the office stands out to travelers and visitors passing through the airport. This approach not only capitalized on the architectural potential of the location but also provided a seamless flow in the overall spatial arrangement.

To maintain brand consistency, we selected a color palette of blue, black, and white, which reflects the corporate identity of Coop Forex and reinforces its professional and trustworthy image. These colors were carefully integrated into the finishes, fixtures, and branding elements, creating a cohesive and elegant aesthetic.

An interesting design challenge was the presence of a structural column within the space. Instead of treating it as an obstacle, we incorporated it seamlessly into the design, making it a functional and aesthetic element. This showcases Minimal's expertise in minimalist design, where structural constraints are transformed into intentional design features rather than limitations.

Overall, this project reflects Minimal’s commitment to simplicity, functionality, and brand representation. The final design delivers a modern and efficient forex office that enhances the banking experience while maintaining a strong visual presence in one of Ethiopia’s busiest locations.
